Outstanding Contributions to Applied Epidemiology Award

Call For Nominations

 

The American College of Epidemiology invites nominations for the Outstanding Contributions to Applied Epidemiology Award.

This award is to provide special recognition to an active applied epidemiologist who has made an outstanding contribution to applied epidemiology. This contribution may be documented by peer review articles, by documented public health achievements in the prevention of disease through the application of epidemiological practices, or by innovative contributions to training in applied epidemiology. The award will be made by the chairperson of the awards committee at the annual meeting and the recipient will be invited to make a scientific presentation of the work to the College. The award will be made in 2010 and at three year intervals, thereafter. If a qualified recipient is not identified by the awards committee the award will not be made in that year.


Please submit a letter stating the special qualifications and contributions of the candidate to excellence in epidemiology. A copy of the candidate's curriculum vitae must also be enclosed. The deadline for receipt of nominations for the 2008 Award is March 31, 2010.

The award is conferred each year at the Annual Meeting .
