The
American College of Epidemiology invites nominations for the
Outstanding Contributions to Etiologic Science in Epidemiology Award.
This award is to provide special recognition to an active research epidemiologist who has made an outstanding contribution to the peer reviewed epidemiology literature with an article or series of etiological articles which have advanced our understanding of disease and its prevention. The award will be made by the chairperson of the awards committee at the annual meeting and the recipient will be invited to make a scientific presentation of this work to the College. The award will be made in 2008 and at three year intervals thereafter. If a qualified recipient is not identified by the awards committee the award will not be made in that year.
Please submit a letter
stating the special qualifications and contributions of the
candidate to excellence in epidemiology. A copy of the candidate's
curriculum vitae must also be enclosed. The deadline for receipt
of nominations for the 2008 Award is March 31, 2008.
The award is conferred
each year at the Annual
Meeting .
