Biographical Sketch:

Dr. Oleske is Dean and Professor of the School of Health Professions, Davenport University, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Davenport University has been recently been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor roll for exemplary service efforts and service to disadvantaged youth. She also holds an appointment as Professor of Preventive Medicine at Rush Medical College. She has held faculty appointments in the Hematology/Oncology Section of the Pritzker School of Medicine, University of Chicago and the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, School of Public Health, University of Illinois. She has taught epidemiology to physicians, nurses, health care managers, and public health and allied health professionals and students. Her recent past elected professional/service positions include: Chair, Cancer Incidence and Epidemiology Committee and Board Director at Large of the American Cancer Society Illinois Division; and Governing Council Member of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. Oleske is a member of the Advisory Board, Center for Health Professions of the Michigan Health Council. Her research current focuses on occupational health epidemiology in particular measuring and classifying ergonomic exposures, and studying the natural history of and prognostic factors for low back disorders. Additionally, she applies epidemiologic methods to evaluate breast cancer control measures and other health services delivery strategies in organizations and the community.
